Belgian Police has
said that the Paris terror attacker was caught out when too much Pizza was delivered
to his ‘safe’ house. Police knew
only three people lived there and swooped when they saw six large pizzas being
delivered.
Salah Abdeslam, 26,
logistics mastermind of November’s Paris attacks in which 130 died, was hiding
at a friend’s house yards from where he grew up in Molenbeek, Brussels. Police flushed
him from his bolthole after his friend Abid Aberkan’s mother ordered the
pizzas.
A police source said: We were fairly confident he was there but the
giveaway was the pizza order. Police
had been watching Aberkan after he attended the funeral last week of Abdeslam’s
brother, fellow Paris terrorist Brahim.
France has
demanded Abdeslam’s extradition and Belgium has indicated it will do all it can
to speed up the process. This could take three months as the fanatic has said
he will fight it. Salah Abdeslam has
been charged yesterday with terrorist murders and belonging to a terrorist
group by a judge together with Amine Choukri who was also seized in Friday’s
raid.
Abid Aberkan and his mother were charged with involvement
in a terrorist group and harbouring criminals. Police are also examining a
piece of paper that fell out of Abdeslam’s trouser leg when he was arrested.
